There is a disconnection with the general population of parents and their children where dinners are had in front of the television, report cards aren't looked at and the thought of house rule is almost extinct. Most children are missing out on meaningful conversations and connection to their parents. I needed to go back...
From the hard covered books gracing the shelves of a growing writer’s bookcase, where from a long line of philosophers and defiant poets have sincerely influenced my life, I pluck two individuals. One for his retribution and self-defining analysis, the other, for his unyielding passion for the right to equal liberty and fare justice; together, they have iconic presuppositions derived from dedication, perseverance and integrity.
In reading of Mr. Lee Iaccoca and studying Adlai Stevenson, it is simple to assess it isn’t enough to appreciate the true value of hard work and determination. It is equally important to have the broad mindedness to see beyond the face of what this country is and press on to the unique power we possess as Nations of races and cultures that encompass a land so rich with the courage to go beyond where others fear. And so, Standing Up for America "
motivation is everything.'Mr. Lee Iaccoca - recreator of Chrysler Automotive continued,
'you can do the work of two people, but you can't be two people. Instead, you have to inspire the next guy down." would be the first biography I read not because of the contents rather the title and the cover - what else would one expect from a sixth grader– the contents, less than thrilling at first. Subtly, a passion within the text filtered through to me. Between the pages and lines of that book I understood how, "
There are two obvious elements within that statement that form a critical structure in maintaining a successful business, motivation and inspiration. Crouching quietly behind this statement is a creature more raw and hungry than one may suppose. It is the passage, the way toward this unstoppable pair. It is what parents’ tuck their children in bed with in the evening; it is the very fragile thing that opens delicately year by year as a child grows. It is every challenge parents have entrusted with as they encourage children to face, knowing we could do it before we even knew we could, id est, riding a bike or walking - the smallest moments which leave such lasting impressions. The passage is unique to every becoming woman and man.
Adlai Stevenson, Ambassador for all Nations whom reside in commonality amongst each other, became a vessel for all men. In the face of The Cuban Missile Crisis, Mr. Adlai Stevenson stood as one of the foremost leaders to ever reveal such reposed authority on behalf of this very delicate peace. His presence assembled as sublimely righteous. Reminiscent of President Abraham Lincoln, he spoke at the United Nations Security Council addressing the Soviet Official, Mr. Zorin. In the opening of his speech:
“I want to say to you, Mr. Zorin, that I do not have your talent for obfuscation, for distortion, for confusing language, and for double talk. And I must confess to you that I am glad that I do not!”
With every eye and ear of the World on him, this holey soled shoe of a man would not deter from his stance until all evidence would show contrary of the lies. The disarmament of missiles and men staining the once graceful countryside of San Cristòbal would soon retract. Through the entirety of that speech, I learned from Mr. Adlai Stevenson it is far greater defeat to step down in the face of diversity than to face it and fail.
These two men, however different remain whispers of fruitful endeavors. How rare and beautiful to have had such esteemed men standing upon the precipice of change building foundation where before there were wrecked bridges.
As I recede back into the reverberating walls of these various intuitions, life lesions and determined broad mindedness toward a better world, I have a wish. It is within most most sensitive of devotions, that parents’ encourage their children to fall, stand and fly.
For without having known all possibilities, how will they ever know where their passage awaits?
